Expansion of the machinery
PDI recently invested heavily in expanding its machinery. The height of modern greenhouses and the speed at which screen systems have to be installed nowadays made us decide to buy four new work platforms. In order to efficiently install the systems in the 12.80 m and 12.00 m greenhouses, we chose, among others, a platform with a floor area of 12.00 m by 5.00 m. A new Topspin R800 also joined the family. The last two new ones are Topspin R900 machines. These feature the very latest technologies and are built so compactly that they fit into a container.
Own garage
With this latest expansion, the in-house machinery fleet has come to a total of 20 units, with each work platform also having its own shovel and diesel tank. From time to time, all these machines also need maintenance. We try to do this in-house as much as possible. Maintenance technicians Tom and Nick are responsible for this. At the moment, two "old" Topspins are being taken apart, sanded and repainted. Soon, two will have to be transported to Canada. This requires them to be cleaned so that there really isn't a scrap of dirt to be found.
Good start
2021 has started well for PDI despite all the uncertainties in the world. At least until after the summer of this year, we need all work platforms, ours and those of our regular subcontractors. And they are certainly not only needed in the Netherlands; many of these machines are going to see beautiful parts of the world this year.
Expansion of the machinery
This year PDI invested in new construction machines. Due to the heights of the modern greenhouses and the speed of installing the screens more and better machines were needed. To install very efficient the screens in the 12,80 m and 12,00 m greenhouses a massive machine has been bought. This machine has got a working platform of 60 m2!. The sizes are 12,00 m by 5,00 m. Also a new Topspin R800 has joined this family. Last but not least two Topspin R900 machines were added. These two are equipped with the latest technologies and are designed in such a way that they will fit in a container for transport..
Own garage
With these four new machines the total has come to 20 machines, where each machine also got his own shovel and petrolpump. Once in a while these machines need maintenance. At PDI we try to do as much as we can in our own garage. Mechanics Tom and Nick are responsible for this work. As we speak two "old" ones are being completely renovated. They are taken apart, being sanded and sprayed again. Soon two machines are going on transport to Canada. For this trip they must be cleaned thoroughly, so that there is not one bit of dirt to find on them.
Good start
With all the uncertainties in the world going on at the moment, the year 2021 has begun pretty good for PDI. Till after the summer all the construction machines, included the ones from our subcontractors, are needed. And they are not only needed in Holland, some of them will see some nice parts of the world.
